SnowAssist Light (additional insurance)
FAQ
What does the SnowAssist Light Lift Insurance cover?
The lift insurance can cover the costs of search & rescue, repatriation for health reasons, and emergency medical expenses.
I am traveling with my family; who is insured?
Only the person named in the insurance policy is insured.
What is SnowAssist Light?
SnowAssist Light is a subsidiary and supplementary insurance to any other existing insurance coverage in favor of the beneficiary and is therefore limited to damages not covered by those guarantees.
SnowAssist covers the costs arising from an accident in the ski area.
How can I purchase SnowAssist Light?
SnowAssist Light can be purchased at the ski station counter along with the ski pass or through our website in connection with a ski pass (leukerbad.ch/shop).
Who is the insurer?
Europ Assistance (Schweiz) Versicherungen AG, Avenue de Perdtemps 23, 1260 Nyon, Switzerland.
EUROP ASSISTANCE is available to insured persons 24/7.
You can reach Europ Assistance by telephone on: +41 (0)22 939 22 32

Who is insured?
The insured persons who can benefit from Europ Assistance's insurance services are policyholders holding a ski pass with a mention of the insurance product subscribed to at the contracting station, or any other document or proof that confirms the insurance subscription.
How can I get confirmation that I am insured?
There are two possibilities:
- If you purchase the policy directly at a counter, the receipt with the insurance product noted on it serves as proof of payment of the insurance premium and thus your insurance coverage.
- If you purchase your insurance on our website (leukerbad.ch/shop), the purchase receipt you receive by email serves as proof.
How long is the insurance valid?
The start and end of the insurance correspond to the duration of the insured ski pass and are indicated either directly on your ski pass (when purchased at a counter) or on your purchase receipt (when purchased online).
Under what conditions is the insurance valid?
The insurance is valid for the entire open ski area of the station that issued the ski pass, and in the event of an accident, only if the station’s rescue service was involved at the accident site.
Is the insurance only for skiers?
No. The insurance applies to skiing and similar sliding sports such as snowboarding, skibob, as well as all other activities related to the use of ski lifts. Hiking is also covered under skiing.
What should I do in the event of an accident?
- Contact the ski station’s rescue service: +41 (0)27 472 81 38
- Contact EUROP ASSISTANCE by phone or email within 10 days after the insured event.
- Report the claim first to your existing insurance providers, then send Europ Assistance the final statement from your insurance to claim any benefits not covered by your insurance.
- Provide EUROP ASSISTANCE with all original receipts for the expenses you are requesting reimbursement for via the website https://ski-ch.eclaims.europ-assistance.com/home.
What are the main exclusions?
- Events that had already occurred at the time of purchasing the ski pass or whose occurrence was obvious to the beneficiary at the time of purchasing the ski pass.
- Events related to participation in dangerous actions, whose risks are known.
- Events related to pandemics and epidemics, improper and dangerous skiing, and/or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Off-piste skiing (subject to areas authorized by the ski resort for "off-piste skiing"), participation in competitive races, even as an amateur.
