What is Cause We Care?
myclimate Award 2021
myclimate, long-standing provider of sustainable and climate-friendly solutions for companies in the travel industry, presented our destination with the myclimate award "Pioneer for the integration of climate protection at destination level" at ITB Berlin NOW 2021. We continue to work on offering climate-neutral experiences for our guests and thus make a contribution to sustainable tourism.
How does Cause We Care work?

You book an offer or product and voluntarily make a small contribution to environmental and climate protection.
We Care
We double this and put your and our amount into the destination's own myclimate "Cause We Care" sustainability fund.
How do we support Cause We Care?
As the most important tourism service provider and largest employer within the destination, My Leukerbad AG is aware of its responsibility to use the various resources such as water, snow and energy in a sustainable and efficient manner. My Leukerbad AG has committed itself to improving the energy efficiency of its operations every year. Thanks to the partnership with myclimate, customers are given the opportunity to actively support Leukerbad's sustainability efforts. 75% of the amount will be invested in sustainable projects in the destination of Leukerbad, 25% of the amount will be invested in clean drinking water for schools and households in Africa.
Ski & protect the climate
The unique natural landscape of Leukerbad is close to our hearts. That's why we have integrated the "Cause We Care" contribution into the price of your ski ticket. For every ski ticket sold, CHF 1 goes into the "Cause We Care" fund and we double your contribution.
Donate a key card
Forgo the deposit of your KeyCard and make a contribution to climate protection? At the end of your day, throw the KeyCard in one of the boxes provided for this purpose at the Torrent & Flaschen valley stations, the Leukerbad Therme or at the Tourist Information. The CHF 5.- donated will go to the "Cause We Care" fund and we double your contribution.
myclimate Menu
In the Rinderhütte mountain restaurant you can choose from two ""Cause We Care"" menus. Only sustainable products from regional farms are used to prepare the dishes. For every menu sold, CHF 1.- goes into the ""Cause We Care"" fund and we double your contribution.
What measures have been implemented / are planned?
Implemented
- Replacement of tennis court lighting: By replacing the tennis court lighting, we can reduce the power consumption of the lighting from around 44,000 kWh to 13,200 kWh.
- Replacement of ski lift drive (ski lift nr. 2): This can save about 2000 kWh of electricity per year.
- Replacement of the indoor swimming pool ventilation: With the replacement of the ventilation system, 24,000 kWh of thermal energy and 48,600 kWh of electrical energy can be saved per year.
Planned
- Replacement of the solar thermal system: With a new, more energy-efficient system, approx. 30'000 kWh of electricity can be saved per year.
- Replacement of ski lift drive (ski lift nr.1): Savings of 3000 kWh of electrical energy per year.
- Replacement of kitchen ventilation Leukerbad Therme: Savings of up to 7600 kWh thermal energy per year.
- Conversion of the Leukerbad Therme heating distributor: Annual savings of 30,000 kWh thermal energy and 26,000 kWh electrical energy.
