Albinen - Guttet - Feschel

Icon Tour

The sunny winter hiking trail connects the two rustic mountain villages of Albinen and Guttet-Feschel. The view of the Rhone Valley, the Turtman Valley, and the Valais Alps is impressive.

Besides the charming villages with their sun-browned barns and the phenomenal view into the Rhone Valley, this winter hike also reveals nature at its wonderful best. The hike from Albinen to Guttet-Feschel passes through a "ghost forest" above Leuk, which almost completely burned down in 2003. It is naturally and gently recovering and gradually coming back to life. An extremely impressive winter experience. From Guttet, you return on the same route to Albinen.

If you want to shorten the route and hike back to Albinen, turn right after about 2 km in Höhwald (Pt 1488 - see map). Descending through the Thelwald, you eventually reach the main road and so back to Albinen.
