Valais Sun Trail (stage 1): Crans Montana - Leukerbad

The Valais Sun Trail measures 75 kilometers: The long-distance hike pampers mountain walkers in four stages from the sunny side of Valais. The first section begins in Crans Montana. Along the way, you will see typical Valais wooden houses, charming mountain villages, and magnificent alpine flowers. The highlight is undoubtedly the breathtaking panorama of the Valais peaks.

The first stage from Crans Montana to Leukerbad is the most demanding. Along the historic Suonen - old water channels - in Bisse du Tsittoret, through forests and past alpine farms, the hiking trail steadily ascends to Varneralp. Hikers overcome about 800 meters in altitude until they reach the high plateau from Crans Montana. From there, it goes steeply downhill to Leukerbad.

As a relaxing conclusion, the soothing thermal water awaits the strained muscles.
